Our Careteam

Meredith Engerski
Practice Manager & Veterinary Technician
Meredith used to live in Montana on a ranch – complete with snow capped mountains, cows and horses. She came back to Indiana to attend college and be with her family. As the youngest of three girls, Meredith has always loved helping others. Meredith, her husband, Kevin, and daughter Victoria reside in Noblesville. She gained valuable experience working at other veterinary clinics in Westfield prior to joining the Cottage Animal Clinic team.

Meredith is the proud owner of an AKC Red Siberian Husky named Sienna who is very inquisitive, stubborn, and quick. She and her daughter love to play with Sienna. She also loves to run, especially in obstacle course races like Tough Mudder, Rebel Race, and Warrior Dash. Every Wednesday, Meredith competes in a soccer league in Noblesville. Her passions are helping animals, being a mommy, learning, and being positive. She regularly asks herself what she can do to make today and tomorrow better than yesterday.

Meredith finds it exciting to be a part of the Cottage Animal Clinic team and she looks forward to getting to know you and your pets!
Amanda Bower
Veterinary Technician
Amanda grew up in a small town in Michigan. Living on a lot of land, she was always outside. Most of her summers were spent knee-deep in mud and muck trying to catch frogs and tadpoles. She moved to Carmel in the summer of 2012 with her husband Tommy and their Labrador mix named Vegas. Vegas is definitely a daddy’s girl as she is loving referred to as “The Princess.” Since moving to Carmel, Amanda has added another pet to the family, a Staffordshire Terrier named Viva. Viva is a little ball of energy and kisses. Amanda likes to joke that Viva doesn’t know how to make normal dog noises, and instead sounds more like a dinosaur than a canine. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys cooking, hiking, and anything outdoors. She loves taking both dogs to Flowing Well Park. They absolutely love to swim!

Amanda has been working in the pet industry for the past few years. When she is not working at Cottage Animal Clinic, she works as a pet groomer. Working with animals has always been her dream job. She looks forward to meeting you and cuddling up to your furry pets!
Julie Lease
Veterinary Technician
Julie has always loved animals. Growing up in New Palestine, Indiana, she was surrounded by a large variety of pets. She had horses, dogs, rabbits, ducks, a pony named “Jinglebells”, and two Seahorses named “Sonny and Cher”. If she wasn’t playing with the animals, Julie was either drawing dogs and horses, or reading everything about them that she could get her hands on. It was this wide variety of pets and experiences that shaped her love for animals that still continues to this day.

Julie’s family moved to Greenfield, Indiana, where over the years their pets included three Poodles, and a Golden Retriever. She graduated from Greenfield Central High School before starting her college education at Ball Sate University with a double major in Fine Arts and Psychology. After moving to the north side of Indianapolis, Julie eventually graduated from IUPUI with a B.S. in Psychology and continued her artistic projects on the side as a hobby. She has been commissioned to paint dog portraits, and in 2000 won first place at the Indiana State Fair Fine Arts Division for one of her many animal portraits.

Julie currently lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband, Tom. Every year they contribute to the Hamilton County Humane Society, and highly recommend their services for those looking to adopt a pet. Julie loves to cook, make jewelry, and is an avid fan of the Colts and IU basketball.

Prior to joining the Cottage Animal Clinic of Carmel as a receptionist and veterinary assistant, Julie taught pre-school and has over twenty years of experience in the hospitality/customer service industry. From there she went on to work in two different Indianapolis area psychology clinics. She is very excited to now be a part of the Cottage Animal Clinic and looks forward to getting to know each and every one of you as part of our new clinic family of pet friends and patients!
Madison Walker

Madison graduated from Daleville Jr.-Sr. High School in 2017. After high school, she attended International Business College Vet Tech Institute where she received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2018.

Madison loves spending time with her mom and two younger sisters. She also has two fur babies which she rescued. Her first is an Australian Labrador mix named Carbon and a Bluetick Coonhound named Hazel Sage.

Madison is excited to continue to learn, gain valuable experience and new friends while being apart of the Cottage Animal Clinic team.
Sophia Strong
Veterinary Technician
Sophie was born in Southern California but only lived there until 2002. She spent 8 years living abroad in first Tokyo, Japan then Paris, France before moving back to the states. She went to high school in Nashville, Tennessee and then moved up to Indiana to go to undergrad at Purdue University.

While she was there, she swam for Boilermaker Aquatics her freshman year and rode on the Purdue Equestrian team her sophomore – senior years. She graduated recently with a BS in Animal Sciences and a minor in Microbiology. She is currently taking some time off school to learn how to be an adult before she goes back to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.

Before Sophie graduated she almost exclusively worked with large animals, particularly enjoying dairy and equine medicine. After working at a small animal clinic in Indianapolis right after college, she has gained a new appreciation for our smaller four legged friends and is looking forward to continuing to work with them at Cottage!

In her spare time she enjoys swimming, riding horses, drawing, and hiking, but especially hanging out with her critters – Donald, Ivanka, and Tiffany the cats, Tippecanoe (Tippy) the dog, and Linguini the Snake!
Maleri Moody
Veterinary Technician
Maleri was born and raised in Indiana, and was a compassionate animal lover all of her life. She grew up bringing home stray animals, many of which became lifelong family pets. In addition to cats and dogs, she had chinchillas, a ferret, a bird, and a handful of other pocket pets while growing up.

After graduating Maleri decided to go a different direction and pursue her passion for writing, attending journalism school at IUPUI. Years later, she began working at a pet care facility and realized that caring for animals was the dream she was meant to pursue. After gaining experience and knowledge with training, grooming, boarding, and daycare, she was eventually offered a management position, which taught her even more about pet care and customer relations. She and her boyfriend Anthony live happily with their own family of fur kids; Grimmis, the 140lb mastiff, is a giant but gentle momma’s boy; Bug, the polydactyl cat, is definitely a daddy’s girl; and Haze, the big sis and ruler of high ground, just enjoys being alone on top of the fridge or perched at her favorite window.

Although they have a perfect family of pets, Maleri is always open to adding more. She credits Anthony with being her better and less impulsive half when it comes to more pets, but also knows his heart is too big to say no if one “accidentally” showed up one day. She is grateful to have found her place at Cottage Animal Clinic where she can meet new fur-friends every day, and also live out her passion for helping each of them and their parents be as happy and healthy as possible!
Ally Wilson
Veterinary Technician
Ally is from Columbus Indiana where she lived out in the country. Racing her go-kart, going fishing, and playing in the mud with her siblings was their idea of fun. Coming from a family with 7 kids there was always a lot going on in their house. Her family moved to Fishers in 2007 and she attended school there and graduated from Fishers High School. During high school, half of her days were spent in classes at the main campus while the other half, was spent at JEL Career Center studying Veterinary Assisting. Ally now lives in Westfield with her dog Aria.

When she isn’t working she enjoys hanging out with friends and spending a lot of time with her dog. During the summer most of her time is spent outside, fishing, swimming or horseback riding. Before joining the Cottage team Ally worked at another clinic helping with kennels, as well as a few pet stores, and as a grooming assistant. Ally always knew she belonged working with animals and can’t wait to help you and your pet!
